I LOVE this. Cheers to your new table and cheers to a raising kiddos who love to be together. To heck with that “teenagers don’t like their family” thing. Hobbit kids forever. 🩷
My family is a little unique. We have one son, due to extenuating circumstances, and that's it. (I come from homeschooling stock where 4 children were seen as a small family). At the age of 41, I'm realizing that parenting an "only" was the Lord's will for us, although it isn't what I envisioned. The 3 of us sit at one end of the table. One person on the end and two on either side. To pray, the two on the sides gave to reach across. The rest of the table usually holds a fruit bowl and stacks of homeschooling books that we yell at each other to put away. 😆 Your observation about seating your family around a smaller table is interesting. This smaller family uses just part of a table. 😆

It sounds so familiar! Ha.
So funny we do the same thing! We all gather at one end, my spouse as my two girls.
I think it's quite wonderful.
This is magic ✨
