Hello my friends!
We just returned back from a week traveling in Charleston, South Carolina and what a delicious time we had! I feel grateful to have been able to not do dishes for an entire week which was more than this home-cook could take. Hallelujah!
But truth be told, I was anxious to get back into the kitchen. When I first return home from a trip, I immediately put a batch of bone broth on the stovetop to simmer and begin to bake sourdough bread. It’s my way of reintroduction back into the kitchen and the starting place for so many future meals.
These have become natural rhythms to the course of our home life… there’s always a smell coming from the kitchen and also something proofing on the countertop.
I trust that my children will look back on these days with fondness - and I with a sense of gratitude for how many nourishing meals I was able to put on the table each day. An appreciation for food production, and the wellness that good foods offer us, is a bountiful gift I am grateful to share.
To make your day-in-and-day-out a little easier, I’m excited to offer this month’s menu plan to you!
As a quick reminder, we offer our paid newsletter supporters two menus each month. Each printable menu will cover 10-days worth of seasonal meals and will include notes on when to mix sourdough, soak beans, etc. Recipes are linked to blog posts or YouTube videos, as applicable.
Also worth noting, every Cooking Community member also gets access to our menus over on our app. So whether you support The Elliot Homestead here or there, we’ve got you covered. Over in our Cooking Community, we offer 5 new recipes each month, along with instructional cooking videos for each one and an exclusive, private online social community of home-cooks.
Be encouraged! From-scratch meals take effort, perhaps even a little bit more than you’re used to. But that doesn’t mean cooking meals from-scratch needs to overrun your kitchen or life. It’s doable. I promise.
Here’s to a delicious start of Spring… let’s cook!
