Hello my friends,
Do you have a dining room? Do you actually use it?
Perhaps this is the month to do just that.
Unlike summer, which is open and spread out in many ways, the next few months ahead are months that naturally call us back to the table. The nights are a bit cooler, the sunset a bit earlier, the food a bit cozier. This is the time to clear away the distracting clutter, turn off the screens, pour a glass of wine, turn on some Django Reinhardt, and belly-up to the table to fill your stomach - as well as your soul.
Breaking bread with others is essential for a happy and content life.
Don’t believe me?
Use our printable menu below to plan and be inspired, invite some friends over, and serve them. Break bread, ask questions, linger for longer, laugh louder! If that overwhelms you, start with your family and neighbors. Maybe even throw on a favorite tablecloth, light a candle, and make it feel a bit special with a bouquet of dried flower heads or the last of the summer’s dahlias and sunflowers.
We can create these magical moments - they’re here for the taking!
I’d love to hear from you in the comments what this looks like for you. In the meanwhile, here’s 10-days of breakfast, lunch, and dinner to get the inspiration flowing!
As a quick reminder, we offer our $5/month paid newsletter supporters two menus each month.
Each printable menu will cover 10-days worth of seasonal meals and will include notes on when to mix sourdough, soak beans, etc. Recipes are linked to newsletters, blog posts, or YouTube videos, as applicable.
Also worth noting, every Cooking Community member also gets access to our menus over on our app. So whether you support The Elliot Homestead here or there, we’ve got you covered. Over in our Cooking Community, we offer 5 new recipes each month, along with instructional cooking videos for each one and an exclusive, private online social community of home-cooks.
Here’s a peek at what we’re cooking in our community this month. Look good? Join in!
Here’s this month’s menu. I hope you enjoy!
