Hello my friends,
It’s time for our last menu of the year! We began this offering in January of 2024, forever striving to increase the enjoyment we all feel in our kitchens, while also fanning the flames of inspiration and motivation. It may seem a bit easier when there’s warm tomatoes coming off the vines in the height of summer to be excited about cooking, but winter certainly should have its place in our hearts.
Braised meats and rich stews have a way of comforting far more than our bodies. It’s an offering, as if to say come, sit, let me care for you. Our souls feel the nourishment as much as our bellies.
I’ve heard from many of you over the past year - some of you follow the menus meal for meal, while others of you pick and choose out the pieces and plates that work best for your kitchen. Regardless, I’m glad that you’ve found them useful and inspirational. If you’ve ever found yourself a bit lonely in the kitchen, my hope continues to be that these menus will demonstrate to you time and time again that you’re not. You’ve got an army of homecooks here beside you each day.
So carry that warmth, truth, and beauty into the final two weeks of our year as we labor for elaborate and special holiday feasts, as well as plain ‘ol Monday morning breakfast.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it a million more times: your work in the kitchen holds deep, rich value. Here’s 10-days of breakfast, lunch, and dinner to inspire your table in the coming weeks. Enjoy.
As a quick reminder, we offer our paid newsletter supporters two menus each month.
Each printable menu will cover 10-days worth of seasonal meals and will include notes on when to mix sourdough, soak beans, etc. Recipes are linked to newsletters, blog posts, or YouTube videos, as applicable.
Also worth noting, every Cooking Community member also gets access to our menus over on our app. So whether you support The Elliot Homestead here or there, we’ve got you covered. Over in our Cooking Community, we offer 5 new recipes each month, along with instructional cooking videos for each one and an exclusive, private online social community of home-cooks.
Here’s a peek at what we’re cooking in our community this month!
Cinnamon Christmas Cakes with Buttercream
Browned Butter & Parmesan Mashed Potatoes
