Welcome to Italy: Coffee at Casa Stagnitta | The Elliotts in Sicily
Hi.
I’ve been (not so) patiently waiting to share our Sicily trip with you. It’s taken Stuart, my poor video editor/husband, a few weeks to organize the audio and video files from our recent adventure but the time has finally come. And not only has the time come, but we’ve committed our efforts to bringing you two videos a week sharing our adventures. We will be peppering in normal content too but for the next few months, be prepared to travel through Sicily with us!
First stop, Palermo. The capital of Sicily.
Even though Palermo is a big city, we were met with welcoming arms. Our friends in Palermo figured the best place to start was Casa Stagnitta - a third generation coffee shop, celebrating it’s 100th anniversary, right in the heart of Palermo. We met with Jean Franco, practiced our Italian espresso sipping, and got plenty caffeinated after the 24 hours of travel we’d just endured. It’s a small piece of our trip but it’s a delicious place to start.
Please note: all of the places mentioned, along with the people we interact with, will all be tagged in the notes below the video.
Please also note: Casa Stagnitta ships worldwide. Just in case you need a little somethin’-somethin’.
New video:
The Elliott Homestead in Sicily: Coffee at Casa Stagnitta.
I hope you enjoy! Stay tuned for more…
Salute,
Shaye
Many thanks to my friend, Dolores, for dreaming and orchestrating this trip for us. And to my friend, John, for educating and humoring us along the way.
