There's No Going Back
late-summer garden labors, packing food for time away, & another giveaway
Hello my friends,
I’m not sure what type of person this makes me, perhaps it’s just one who really enjoys good food, but I’m currently packing food for a weekend away. Even though we’re going to a camp with readily available “camp food”, well, I can’t be that easy going now can I. Truth be told, I’m focusing on some diet-related healing this summer and camp food wasn’t exactly part of the protocol.
No shame in it.
So instead, I’m packing food for us to enjoy while we’re there. Some readily available to-go food that will include lots of protein and fresh produce that can sit nicely in a cooler for a few days and await meal time.
We unpack this a bit more in today’s new vlog, which also includes a bit of gardening that we need to get done before we head out for the weekend, but here’s the general menu:
hardboiled eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt for breakfast
chicken salad with giardinera / crackers for lunch (recipe below)
Thai peanut salad with lots of vegetables and chicken for supper
snack of cheese, meat sticks, and homemade popcorn
