Hello my friends,
I know you can’t see it in the picture, but there’s a massive pile of trash and weeds directly to the left of the vegetable garden. Let’s shatter that perfect ideal straight out of the gate. This property, this garden… not an inch of it is perfect. Weeds push through every crack, twine has taken up permanent residence everywhere, and there are more unfinished projects than I can count on both my hands and feet.
Yet, it remains not only crucial to me, but completely essential, that we take the time continually to make pieces beautiful as we can. Time and budget suffocate us at times, but beauty has a way of somehow pushing through the straight-jacket of utilitarianism.
It always prevails. I believe it’s because beauty matters to our Creator which we demonstrated in this world, all around us.
This week, utility is taking a backseat to beauty in our new gardening video where we weed, plant, and focus on creating (what I like to call) magic.
Quick reminder: if you want to learn how to preserve what comes out of the vegetable garden in the height of summer… reserve your spot for our Preserving Workshop next month!
Come along with us as we celebrate imperfects and delight in the garden…
Thanks for being a part of our community, my friends!
