Hello my dear friends,
Today, I want to encourage you as you begin to turn inwards on your home for the holiday season ahead. Regardless of how you celebrate, there is much to be done this time of year as we open up our homes, our tables, and our hearts to communities, friends, and families.
This year, we have an extra special season ahead ourselves as we get ready to welcome Stuart’s family from down South. They’ve visited us in Washington State lots of times but this will be their first visit over the Christmas season - so we are preparing to make it as special as possible for them and we’re crossing our fingers for lots of snow for my niece and nephew that never get to experience a white Christmas. Oh the magic of being a child! (Anyone else wish they could go back sometimes?)
I wanted to share with you a few strategies that I’ve found over the years to prepare my home for the holidays, whether it’s just your immediately family, just a friend or two, maybe a neighbor, or an entire family. Here are a few wonderful ways to create spaces that are cozy, welcoming, and prepared for the season ahead! I hope you enjoy!
As always, your shares, subscribes, likes, and kind comments mean the world to us - thank you!
And if you need a few inspiring images for decorating your own home, here’s a few images from our Christmas Home Past. You may have noticed that I have a sickness that forbids me from keeping things in the same place for too long or decorating in the same way twice. I just don’t have that ability, so the house is always changing. Forever and ever.
Oh! And if you’d like the shortbread recipe, you can find that here.
Cheers,
Shaye
