Hello my friends,
For the first time, I’m going to be sharing with you a menu that I won’t be cooking through myself. Not because the menu isn’t helpful or delicious because it certainly is! But rather, we’re eating ourselves out the door - next week, we leave on our long-awaited monthly long trip to Umbria, Italy! The whole family. I’m so giddy I can barely focus.
Many people in our town are doing the same. We’re in week 83 of winter (sorry for the drama, but I told you, I’m feeling my oats), the weather is positively foul, and the locals are taking it upon themselves to fly south. Anywhere at all that the sun might be breaking through, offering us the slightest bit of warmth. Even thick wool socks aren’t touching the chill in the air.

So while there’s still a lot of meals between here and there, I’m not one for wasting food… which means that I’m attempting to use up every stalk of celery, orange, and squash before we leave. Meals are already getting… a bit creative. Thankfully, it’s soup season which means that almost anything mixed together in a pot is fair game.
Add to our trip preparations that the rest of my family has spent the last ten days under the weather - which meals lots of broth - and I’ll be honest… inspiration is running a teeny bit low. Maybe for a variety of reasons you’re in the same boat. But HEY! We’re almost to spring. Asparagus, fresh greens, eggs, and radishes are right around the corner - I’m sure of it. We’re going to make it, y’all.
In the meanwhile, we can certainly prepare some delicious foods in the days ahead. Here’s a menu to inspire you through the rest of the month!
Each printable menu will cover 10-days worth of seasonal meals and will include notes on when to mix sourdough, soak beans, etc. Many of the recipes are linked to newsletters, blog posts, or YouTube videos, as applicable.
