If you’ve ever gathered a basket of heirloom tomatoes in the heat of the summer sun, I hope you know exactly the feel that I was hoping to capture in this week’s new video. It’s easy for me to remember the pain of putting a plate of food on the table like this: from starting the tomato plants on a prayer in February to top dressing our garden beds with with wheelbarrows full of heavy compost. It’s easy to see the work and the labor.
What’s harder, I find, is slowing down enough to see the joy and pleasure of such a plate of food.
But the pleasure, as I hope you see in today’s video, is the fun part.
So pour a glass, belly up to the barbecue, and enjoy (this) homesteader’s dream summer meal.
Still clinging onto all these beautiful, bountiful, hot summer days… we’ve got a solid six weeks left in the garden and I’m not going to waste a morsel of it.
Cheers,
Shaye
